| BROWNHILLS MEMORIAL HALL | |
![]() Brownhills Memorial Hall although not in the High Street is positioned at the centre of the Lichfield Road. All Brownhills residents, past and present are aware of its existance, many including myself have spent many an hour in there at wedding receptions, bingo nights, dance classes, slimming clubs, i could go on for ever the Memo has been used for everything you can think of over the years. As it's name suggests the, 'MEMO' serves to remind us of those who gave their lives during the two world wars. The Hall was built in 1926 from public subscription and belongs to all the residents of Brownhills. Everyone is welcome to use its facilities and enjoy all the many functions which go on there. Inside are two brass plaques with the names of Brownhills people who lost their lives in the two wars. The rooms within the Hall are all avaliable for hire, the upstairs room called the,'Lichfied Suite' was previously a billiard room but is now a self contained room ideal for parties and meetings. The main hall has a stage and a large dance floor which makes it ideal for disco's, etc. The enthusiastic local people who look after the hall are headed by a president and a commitee, any profit made goes towards the funds that keep the hall in good condition. |
